Spirit Poles were conceived of as a personal form of meditation and healing.  The original pieces in this series were inspired by the “trump” cards of the tarot deck.  The trump cards represent the life journey—from the gleeful ignorance of the fool, to the complete understanding of the universe.  Each card symbolizes a particular stage of growth, being, and awareness on our individual journeys.   We live each of the lessons of the cards many times over throughout our own life.
